FAQs

Everything you need to know about our handcrafted copper, brass, and kansa collections.

Can I cook everything in this kadhai?

Yes. This brass kadhai is safe for preparing all kinds of dishes, including those with acidic ingredients like tomatoes, vinegar, or citrus. The food-safe Malaysian tin lining (kalai) prevents reactivity, making it ideal for various everyday meals.

Regular use and mild care will help the tin lining last between six and twelve months. It might eventually fade, which is a normal aspect of utilizing historically produced cookware. However, you can get your retinning done using our de-oxidising solution.

No, this kadhai is incompatible with induction cooktops. That is because pure brass or copper is non-magnetic in nature and hence it doesn’t work on induction. It is best suited for oven use and gas stoves. Its flat base provides stability. Additionally, the metal’s heat retention makes it perfect for slow cooking and traditional cooking.

Indeed, brass oxidises naturally under usage and in air and moisture conditions. This process creates a darker patina which is a visual feature of true, uncoated metal. It has no bearing on the health, safety, or performance of the cookware. However, you can purchase the de-oxidising cleanser from our website to bring back the shine and make the product as good as new.

Especially with frequent use, brass may lose its golden shine over time. Restoring it, though, is easy. Polish it using our deoxidising cleanser solution. In minutes your kadhai will be glowing once again.

Yes. Malaysian tin coating (kalai) is food-safe and prevents any reaction between the metal and your food. It’s a natural, non-toxic way to cook safely.

Brass and copper are free from harmful coatings. They offer better heat distribution and retain more nutrients, making them a healthier, more durable choice.

Not at all. These metals heat up quickly and evenly, helping you cook efficiently while saving fuel.

Cook on low to medium heat to protect the Malaysian tin lining. Use wooden or silicone spatulas to avoid scratches. Avoid harsh cleaners; mild soap and a soft sponge work best. Re-coat (kalai) as needed to maintain performance and safety.
